Devlet Bahceli, Chairman of the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), regards as groundless the Turkish leaders’ statements that Turkey gained a diplomatic victory at NATO Summit in Lisbon.

The MHP leader severely criticized the Turkish authorities, stressing that the decisions made at the summit do not meet Turkey’s national interests. He called ridiculous the official statements that the NATO air-defense systems to be deployed in Turkey will not be aimed at Iran.

“If they not at Iran, then at what state? Senegal, Cuba or Russia?” the politician asked. Turkey did not gain any victories at the NATO Summit. The NATO leadership just sweetened the pill for Turkey, Devlet Bahceli said.
