The social conditions of 84.8% of the Armenian population remained poor because of the global economic crisis.

The results of a poll conducted by the Sociometer NGO showed that 14.3% of the 1,650 respondents felt the negative impact of the crisis. In 12% of cases the situation remained unchanged, and 2.3% of the respondents said their social conditions have even improved. Also, 25.4% of Armenian families accumulated debts, and 16.1% of citizens lost their jobs. Moreover, 10% had to cancel their treatment, 14.5% emigrated from Armenia and 2.7% lost their businesses.
