The German government will on Wednesday consider the option of withdrawing the German troops from Incirlik military airbase in Turkey.

The soldiers will be dislocated to Jordan, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said after Berlin didn’t manage to resolve the conflict with Ankara round the right of German deputies to visit the Bundeswehr troops stationed in the Turkish airbase, DW reports. 

“We are ready for re-dislocation,” she noted, adding that the Jordan Al Azraq airbase  will become an adequate substitute for Incirlik—something that she already made sure of during her visit to Jordan in May.

During the dislocation of several hundreds of servicemen, as well as transportation of about 10 tons of necessary cargo, the Bundeswehr will interrupt the participation in the operation against Islamic State, the minister said.

“Incirlik was a good airbase for fighting ISIS. However it is unacceptable that our deputies have no chance to visit the soldiers,” von der Leyen stressed.
