GDP growth is unsteady in Armenia, Mikael Verdyan, an expert for the FOREX CLUB Group said, referring to a recent survey conducted by the FOREX CLUB office in Yerevan. He pointed out steady upward tendencies in economic crediting, which, however, is insufficient for ensuring high growth rates.
A 2.4% GDP growth was registered in Armenia this January-October as compared with the corresponding period last year. “A 3.1% GDP growth is expected by the end of this year,” Verdyan said. GDP growth depends on industrial development, whereas the current growth rates in the agricultural and construction sectors impede the process.
As regards economic forecasts for next year, Verdyan forecasts economic stabilization and a GDP growth of about 4%.
