The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Friday made another judgment against Armenia. The court has ordered the Armenian Government to pay a 3,600 EURO compensation to the aggrieved party in the case Gevorg Dngikyan v. Armenia.
The applicant was represented by attorney Tigran Atanesyan.
The case related to an ownership dispute. Since 2003 Gevorg Dngikyan tried to gain ownership of his grandfather’s house. Failing to achieve success in the Armenian courts, he filed a complaint with the ECHR.
The ECHR on Friday decided that there has been a violation of Protocol No. 6 and Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 of the European Convention of the Human Rights (ECoHR).
