YEREVAN. - Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan did not meet with opposition Yelk faction of the National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday. Instead, the Government proposed the faction to discuss its program with Vice Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan.

Secretary of the faction, MP Gevorg Gorgisyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The prime minister on Tuesday introduced the Government program to Tsarukyan and Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) factions, and earlier to ARF representatives.

Meanwhile, the Government proposed Yelk (Way Out) Bloc to discuss the program with the vice prime minister, which the bloc faction refused to do. It will voice its questions regarding the program at the NA on Wednesday. In fact, the discussion on the Government program will kick off in the NA starting from Wednesday.

Gevorg Gorgisyan also noted that that is a program of declarative nature: the issues are described but there are no specific steps mentioned.

“In short, there are promises but there is no answer to the main question: How? There are promises but there are no specific steps and a road map,” he added.

According to the MP, they will not vote for the program, while the position of the faction—whether it will vote against or abstain—will depend on the Q&A with the Government.
