The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on July 5 in connection with North Korea's  another missile test, AFP reported.

The US which has confirmed that Pyongyang successfully tested its first intercontinental ballistic missile, backed by Japan requested the urgent meeting that is scheduled for July 5.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un oversaw  the launch of the Hwasong-14 which, according to experts, is capable of reaching Alaska.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the launch, noting that it constitutes a dangerous escalation of the situation.
