Egemen Bagis, Turkish State Minister and Chief negotiator for EU talks, delivered a speech at the EU representation in Denmark and answered participants’ questions.
The State Minister was asked about Armenian-Turkish protocols, Hurriyet reported. Bagis noted that Turkey will not ratify the documents unless Karabakh conflict is resolved.
“However, Turks do not feel hatred towards Armenians. Citizens of Armenia leave the country due to grave economic situation. Almost half of country’s population has left Armenia. About 70,000 Armenian citizens are illegally working in Turkey. We are shutting eyes at it. Majority of them are working as baby sitters. We trust our treasure – our children – to Armenian women. If we were filled with hatred, there would be no such attitude,” he stressed.
