In 2011 Azerbaijan and Turkey will launch joint production of military equipment.

The sides have reached agreement on joint production, military source informed APA news agency. In October the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry and Turkey’s Otokar Company signed a protocol on intention to produce armored equipment. Military equipment and necessary details will be imported from Turkey.

In the end of December Azerbaijani and Turkish delegations plan to discuss several prospective defense industry projects.

Presently Azerbaijan and Turkey are producing small arms and some ammunitions.
