The Heritage Party issued a statement on Human Rights Day stressing presence of political prisoners in Armenia is unacceptable.

According to the statement, on this day Armenia is obliged to be more consistent in protecting human rights. The statement also notes that Armenia’s joining various international conventions on human rights is an artificial step. “Presence of political prisoners in Armenia is the best assessment of situation of human rights in the country,” it says. The party claims that democracy development has no alternative in Armenia and pledges to be consistent in protecting human rights in the republic.
