There is no Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the Republic of Armenia, and Western Armenia, there is only the Armenian people and the representatives of this nation should live in one unified country, Karabakh war participant Arkady Karapetyan (AGO), told NEWS.am, referring to the 19th anniversary of the constitutional referendum in Nagorno Karabakh.

“Our homeland is God given, and this country should be one state. We have no right to divide and live apart from each other as separate nations. And despite the fact that Karabakh as a state is already an undisputed reality, I would like to see Armenia and Karabakh to merged into one country,” he said.

Karapetyan also noted that the biggest achievement of Nagorno Karabakh in the last 19 years was the constitutional referendum, and everything else is a result of evolutionary development.

December 10, 1991 a referendum was held on the independence of Nagorno Karabakh.  It passed by 99, 8% of the vote.

By December 10, 2006 a national referendum on a draft of the first Constitution was held in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
