Nineteen years ago, by means of a referendum held in conformity with international law, the Nagorno-Karabakh people gained independence. Nagorno-Karabakh thus proved to the international community that Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence has no alternative, Eduard Sharmazanov, Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told NEWS.am.

The Nagorno-Karabakh people has proved its commitment to self-determination since. The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) is a truly constitutional and democratic state. “All together, Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, are exerting every effort to consolidate the Karabakh people’s achievements de jure,” Sharmazanov said.
