Talking to NEWS.am, Armenian Minister of Agriculture Gerasim Alaverdyan said that the Armenian Government is not discussing his resignation.
“No one is discussing it either in the Government or in the party. We are working as we did,” he said.
Commenting on media reports on discussions of his dismissal, Minister Alaverdyan said in a rising tone: “Vram Gyulzadyan’s mouthpieces are spreading this information through mass media. No one else can do it.”
Vram Gyulzadyan was recently relieved of the post of Head of the Phytosanitary Inspection because of conflicts with the minister.
Minister Alaverdyan is sure he is properly performing his duties and his resignation is out of the question.
NEWS.am reminds readers that at the Government’s sitting on Nov. 4 RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was severely critical of the ministries for being corrupt and failing to perform their duties properly.
Media reports say that Minister Alaverdyan’s dismissal has been discussed for a long time. However, Artur Baghdasaryan, Chairman of the Rule of Law party, got guarantees that the minister will retain his post from Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
