Azerbaijani parliament ratified the “Agreement between Azerbaijan Republic and Republic of Turkey on strategic partnership and mutual assistance”, APA agency reports.

The agreement has been discussed at today’s meeting of the parliament. Chairman of the parliament’s international affairs committee Samad Seyidov gave information about the agreement. He said the document is based on the agreements signed between the states earlier and on Kars Treaty signed in 1921. He said the document shows that the parties will offer mutual assistance to each other in case one of them undergoes armed attack by a third state or a group of states.
“Special attention is paid to the military-technical cooperation, for example, establishment of infrastructure with the view of joint military operations, provision of the armed forces with necessary equipment etc. It means that our relations have risen to a new stage,” he said.
