Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan informed journalists of a 15 to 20 per cent decrease in gas consumption in Armenia this year as compared with last year, the reason being a higher gas price.
The minister assured journalists that the Government is taking measures to keep the gas price down next year.
This September, the Gazprom Company announced gas will be supplied to Belarus, Ukraine and Armenia at the market price – U.S. $300 for 1,000 cubic meters. Russia is supplying gas to Armenia at U.S. $180 for 1,000 cubic meters.
