Office of the Armenian Ombudsman does not comment on reports saying Armen Harutyunyan will be appointed Special Envoy of UN Human Rights in Central Asia.

Armen Harutunyan plans to give a press conference, press service of the ombudsman’s office informed NEWS.am.

“After January 15 Ombudsman will give a press conference to provide information. We do not want to comment on press reports prior to the press conference,” said Tsovinar Khachatryan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ombudsman.

According to press reports, Armenian Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan will be appointed Special Envoy of UN Human Rights in Central Asia and will soon leave for Bishkek.  

Constitutional law expert Vardan Poghosyan was offered to assume the office, however, the latter refused, newspapers write.
