“I welcome the fact that Karen Karapetyan has replaced Gagik Belglaryan as Yerevan Mayor. But who brought Gagik Beglaryan?” the ex-premier of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan told journalists Dec. 23. He said he has no grounds to be satisfied with Karen Karapetyan’s activities as ArmRusgasprom President.
“The gas supply price has shown a rise of dozens of times – U.S. $8 up to U.S. $190 -during eight years,” Bagaratyan said. He reminded the journalists that the Armenian National Congress (ANC) has lodged a claim, protesting at the rise in gas prices. “When asked about the reason for higher prices, they said: ‘We are enlarging the gas storage.’ That’s an unheard-of thing! Last year’s price rise was ArmRusgasprom’s initiative, not a rise in the price for Russian gas,” Bagratyan said.
As regards the recent reshuffle within the economic units of the Government, Bagratyan believes that it not bring about any serious changes, as “the order of the summands does not affect the sum.”
