In the course of his visit to Moscow Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsan reached an agreement on negotiating with Russia over gas prices for Armenia after the New Year.

Talking to journalists, Sargsyan noted that under the agreement prices for Armenia will step-by-step reach the international ones. “Armenian side has presented its stance on the issue. It was quite clear,” he said after the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Armenian Public TV reported.                               

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Anatoly Podmishalsky, chief of Gazprom’s division in charge of relations with the near abroad, stated there are contractual terms according to which gas price in Armenia will correspond to the market prices starting April 1, 2011. “As to other possible variants, they will be determined in next 2-3 months if the talks are held,” he said.
