Electricity prices will remain unchanged in Armenia in the context of increased gas tariffs. Asked by NEWS.am whether electricity price will remain unchanged if gas price goes up, Yevgeny Gladunchik, executive director of the Electricity Networks of Armenia, said it is the most complicated question, refusing to give any comments. However, he assured that price margin (difference between prices of purchased and sold electricity) will remain the same.

According to him, in 2010 they managed to keep electricity price from growing due to efforts of the ministry and republic’s leadership. Launch of Yerevan thermal power plant and work of Sevan-Hrazdan cascade also helped keep the prices.

However, Gladunchik stressed that gas price makes 70% of electricity cost.
