In 3-4 years the number of ethnic Azeris returning to Georgia will reach 15-20 thousand, said the head of the Migration Center of Azerbaijan Aliovsat Aliyev, reports Vesti.Az.
“Ethnic Azeris who are Georgian citizens that settled in Azerbaijan many years ago and even a certain part of the Georgians began returning to their homeland. Georgia already has necessary conditions for life and work. The other reason is over the years the Georgian Azerbaijanis were overwhelmed with problems related to the legitimacy of their presence in the territory. In addition, Georgian citizens can now freely travel to certain countries in Europe and work there.
For example, Georgia and Poland signed an agreement under which citizens of Georgia can work without a special permit employment in Poland. Obviously, all these factors do not apply to Azerbaijanis,” he said.
