In a Dec. 30 letter addressed to the UN Secretary General, permanent mission of Armenia to UN spread information about ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side on December 1- 30.
The letter mentions that Azerbaijan continues to misuse its membership in the UN, not missing an opportunity to shamelessly spread slander against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, RA foreign office press service informed NEWS.am.
As a counter to the negotiation process within the OSCE Minsk Group, the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act, Azerbaijani Government on behalf of president and his numerous representatives, has been conducting a massive intolerance campaign against Armenia and all Armenians, thus posing a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
Armenia, as well as co-chairs of the Minsk Group, express concern over the increasing number of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan on the contact line in 2010, due to which all sides incurred losses.
Azerbaijan continues denying the calls of the OSCE Minsk Group and the UN Secretary-General to remove snipers from the contact line. The last call came on Dec. 1, 2010 in Astana within the framework of the OSCE Summit.
Letter and materials were circulated as a document of the UN Security Council and General Assembly.
