On December 30, the RA Statistical Service issued a statement refuting egg deficit in Armenia. Specifically, a 16.3% increase in egg output was registered in the country this January to November, reaching 700,000,000.
According to the statement, 18 to 19 eggs per capita are produced in the country.
In its report entitled “Social picture in Armenia and poverty in 2010”, the Statistical Service points out that 10.5 eggs per capita had been produced in Armenia in 2009. Egg consumption had shown an increase of about 20% since 2004.
With a 1.5 increase in egg consumption taken as a basis, overproduction is obvious in the country – if the Statistical Service is honest.
