Seven people accused of drug trafficking were executed by hanging In Iran. Sentence was carried out in the central prison in Zahedan, the eastern province of Kermanshah.

According to the court, drug traffickers bought 5 kg of heroin and 100 kg of synthetic cocaine with intent to sell. Under a recent amendment to the Iranian law, purchase and sale of more than 30 grams of illegal drugs is punishable by death, RBC reports referring to the Iranian news agency IRNA.

Days earlier, eight convicted drug traffickers were hanged in the holy city of Qom.
