As OSCE chairing state Lithuania is unlikely to provoke a revolution in settling any of the protracted conflicts, but it will do its best to get good results, stated Giedrius Čekuolis, OSCE Chairman-in-Office’s Special Representative for protracted conflicts.

The OSCE is an organization with progress measured in “millimeters”.  However, each millimeter is “as good as gold.” He said Lithuania is determined to follow this course and do its best.

According to him, the most complicated protracted conflicts to be settled are the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as conflicts in Georgia and Moldova. The main aim is to create conditions for contacts, which will help resolve protracted conflicts in a peaceful way, Čekuolis said.
