The work is underway on construction of a water canal from the Caspian Sea to the Semnan province, said Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namdz, ISNA agency reports.

According to him, one of the main problems of the Semnan province is the lack of water.

Following the project implementation, it is expected to deliver 2 bn cubic meters of water per year to the central cities. The length of the water channel being built from the Caspian Sea to the Semnan province will hit 70 kilometers. Investment worth $ 15 is required for the project realization.
