U.S. and Georgian Presidents – Barack Obama and Mikheil Saakashvili met in Washington after the memorial service for Richard Holbrooke. Vice President Biden joined them for conversation, the White House reported. The meeting lasted 25 minutes.

“The leaders discussed Georgia’s efforts to advance its economic development and increase trade.  They also discussed security challenges in the Caucasus and the work of ISAF forces in Afghanistan, where brave Georgians stand shoulder to shoulder with American forces,” reads the statement issued by the White House.

Earlier Georgian press informed of the meeting which was not included in the U.S. president’s schedule.
