After the 2^nd round the standings are as follows: Anand, Smeets. Nakamura, Nepomniachtchi (1.5 points each), Carlsen, Kramink, Vacheir Lagrave, Aronian, l’Ami, Wang Hao (1 point each), Ponomariov, Shirov (0.5 points each).

Aronian will face Vacheir Lagrave in the 3^rd round of the tournament, on January 17.
