At a January 17 press conference, Samvel Gevorgyan and Gor Khachatryan, respective Executive Managers of the Reso and Nairi Insurance companies, presented the initial results of car insurance in Armenia. An executive of the INGO Armenia insurance company did not take part in the press conference for unknown reasons.

By January 15, 2011, Nairi Insurance had insured about 31,000 cars or 10% of the insured cars in Armenia. Gor Khachatryan said that private cars constitute around 81% of insured cars.

Samvel Gevorgyan said that his company will released detailed information later. He said that the company was overworked late last December and early this January.

He reported that the Reso company paid insurance indemnities totaling 6 million AMD (about U.S. $16,500) for 43 car accidents. The Nairi Insurance company paid indemnities totaling 1.2 million AMD (U.S. $3,300) for six accidents.

Thus, the Reso company paid 200,000 AMD (about U.S. $550) per insured accident, and the Nairi Insurance company 140,000 AMD (about U.S. $340) However, the payment of indemnities for insured accidents implying huge sums is still under consideration.

The managers of both companies rule out any fixing of insured accidents.
