The Israeli parliamentarians gave Prime Minister and Defense Minister the authority to declare war without consulting the government, Times of Israel reported.
According to the source, the Knesset approved the amendment 62 to 41, allowing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman to declare war in “extreme situations.”
The vote amended a law which previously required the whole cabinet to vote on the declaration of war.
