National Seismic Protection Service of Armenia presented a detailed report on earthquakes which hit the region from January 13 to 19.

On January 13, a 3-4 magnitude earthquake was registered 36 km to the north-west from the Turkish city of Dogubayazet.

An earthquake measuring 4-5 magnitude was registered on January 14 to the south-east from the Iranian city of Khoy. Tremors reoccurred on January 17 in the same region.

Another earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Georgia on January 19 to the south from the town of Kutaisi. It was also felt in Armenia, particularly in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Tashir and Yerevan.

Overall the Armenian seismologists registered 9 earthquakes from January 13 to 19.
