The first session of talks between Iran and six world powers was held in a “positive atmosphere” in Istanbul.

The sides reiterated their position to continue talks based on agreements made at the third Geneva talks.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said the further talks will focus on seeking mutually acceptable solutions, RIA Novosti reports.

The Iranian delegation, headed by Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, is taking part in the talks. Catherine Ashton heads the delegations representing six big powers -- Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States.
