Unblocking of Armenia-Turkey border will have an extremely positive affect on Armenia’s economy, Mark Louis, Head of IMF Mission to Armenia, said at the September 16 press conference in Yerevan.

He pointed out that Turkey will provide a large market for Armenian goods and opening of the border will decrease transportation expenses furthering competitiveness of Armenian companies.

Besides, opened borders will create additional perspectives for regional integration, investments, and wellbeing of Armenian citizens.

The same day, RA Finance Minister Tigran Davtyan has also underlined economic benefits that Armenia will have once the border is open.
