The Youth Party of Armenia (YPA) believes party merger is right, YPA Chairman Vahan Babayan told reporters January 29, before the YPA congress. The party had a policy of uniting young people similar to programs of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP).

"In this contest, we think it is pointless to act alone and consider party merger right. We welcome this process and we must make our hands into one fist," Babayan said, commenting on the merger between the YPA and PAP. As to his expectations from the PAP in next year`s parliamentary elections, Babayan said that time will show.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reminds readers that Babayan has belonged to several political parties. He was a member of the opposition party Republic, whereafter he joined the YPA and was its chairman. Some time later, the YPA merged with the United Liberal National Party and then seceded from it. Finally, today, January 29, the YPA has announced its merger with the PAP.
