Ukraine will receive the first supplies of Azerbaijani gas amounting to 2 billion cubic meters till 2014. By 2015 deliveries will be increased up to 5 billion cubic meters, said Vladislav Kaskiv, head of Ukraine’s National Projects group.

According to him, Ukraine hopes to increase supplies of  liquefied  natural gas up to 7 billion cubic meters annually. Kaskiv stressed that Ukraine considers other sources of gas supplies apart from Azerbaijan.

Besides Ukraine plans to design a liquefied  natural gas terminal on the Black Sea. The Ukrainian leadership considers it will enable to diversify energy imports.

On January 28, Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed a memo on future deliveries of natural gas to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.
