As regards Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the CE Parliamentary Assembly`s biased attitude is obvious for everybody, David Harutyunyan, Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, told journalists Feb. 1.
With respect to the recently re-formed PACE subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh, Harutyunyan pointed out regular attempts to equate the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities and "some representative of some community."
"We will not accept this approach. We have always stated Nagorno-Karabakh is an independent side. If they propose inviting both sides, let them invite Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh and listen to them. We are not going to assume the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities` functions," Harutyunyan said.
As to whether he is disappointed with PACE, Harutyunyan said that he is not disappointed with PACE`s general activities.
"As to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, PACE showed an obviously biased attitude by resuming the activities of the subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.
According to him, it was a disgrace for PACE to appoint Goran Lindblad, self-proclaimed "contract lobbyist" for Azerbaijan, co-rapporteur on Armenia.
Naira Zohrabyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), pointed out that PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu awarded a medal to Goran Lindblad a month ago.
Armenian News-NEWS.am reminds readers that, after failing to be re-elected to Swedish Parliament, Goran Lindblad was not re-appointed co-rapporteur on Armenia.
