A rather high price rise was registered in Armenia this January. The RA Statistical Service reports a 2.8% price rise as compared with the corresponding period last year. The main reason was a 4.9% rise in prices for food, alcohol, as well as tobacco. A 0.5% monthly rise in the prices for nonfoods, as well as a 0.2% rise in prices, for related services was reported.

The figures do not include the prices for bread and flour, which went up at the end of the month. The Statistical Service will include the data in its February report.
