Heavy snowfall in the territory of Armenia caused temporary closing of Upper Lars checkpoint, Susanna Tonoyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Transport and Communication Ministry, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to her, the checkpoint has been functioning without interruptions but was closed due to heavy snowfall. She noted opening depends on weather conditions. Tonoyan stressed Selim Pass which was closed yesterday is already functioning.

Upper Lars is the only Armenia’s overland commercial rout to Russia.
