Supporters of Egypt’s president Hosni Mubarak entered Cairo’s Tahrir Square riding horses and camels, RIA Novosti reported.

Many people were injured in clashes between the protestors and Mubarak’s supporters. The situation is rather tensed, one of the eyewitnesses told the Russian agency.

On February 1, Mubarak said he would not run for presidential elections when his term ends in September and promised critical constitutional reforms. However, the situation is still strained, majority of the oppositionists still demand president’s resignation. Mubarak’s supporters have gathered in Cairo’s second largest Mustafa Mahmoud square.
