The minor court of the Center and Nor-Nork communities, Yerevan, is considering a claim against an independent media outlet. On February 4, the court held the first sitting to consider the claim. Judge Edik Avetisyan, however, had to adjourn the sitting to allow the claimant Murad Asryan of the Center of Cardiology to correct errors in the claim.

On November 23, 2010, Armenian News-NEWS.am posted an article about the Armenian citizen Hovhannes Kartrjyan, who charged the center of a fraud against him. The Center of Cardiology charged Armenian News-NEWS.am with damaging its business reputation and filed a suit, claiming 2 million AMD damage. However, the claim was lodged against Armenian News-NEWS.am, which is not a legal entity, rather than against the founder of the Media Consult Ltd. Judge Murad Asryan explained the error to the claimant.

"The article referred to a citizen`s claims, without expressing the news agency`s opinion," Aramazd Kiviryan , a Media Consult representative, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

It is noteworthy that the Center of Cardiology forms part of the Erebuni medical center. It is common knowledge who is the owner of the medical center.
