The re-formation of the PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh is a flagrant breach of protocol, MP from “Heritage” party Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters on February 4.

“A number of countries have so much politicized the significance of this subcommittee that OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs expressed their negative attitude towards its re-establishment,” Alaverdyan said.

According to the MP, PACE Bureau’s decision violates code of ethics and international practice. “When dealing with the OSCE Minsk Group, which is chaired by the world’s leading countries, such a step may be considered as a mistake,” she said.

“I attach importance to it as I have never underestimated Azerbaijan-pursued policy based on lie. The re-establishment of the PACE Subcommittee on Karabakh may be considered as consequences of this policy adopted by Azerbaijan,” she said, noting the Azeri delegation to the PACE works efficiently.

The MP stressed the Armenian delegation to the PACE should send a letter to the PACE President and explain the reasons why it opposed the activities of the subcommittee. Besides, the delegation members may offer the PACE to review this decision.
