The Armenian financial market has shown a steady demand fro the U.S. dollar. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) reports that a total of U.S. $17.4 million were sold and U.S. $68.5 million purchased in the domestic banking market, Jan 31 to Feb 4).

Although the demand for U.S. dollars exceeds that for Armenian drams, the latter has shown a downward tendency over this week. On February 4, the average AMD/UDS exchange rate was 364 AMD/U.S. $1 against 365.5 AMD/U.S. $1.

A total of U.S. $17.45 million transactions have been effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia this week.
