World mass media reports the first case of a reporter killed while covering the unrest in Egypt.

The reporter, Ahmad Mohamed Mahmoud, worked for a state-owned newspaper, Al-Ta’awun. He was hit by sniper fire on January 28 while filming near Tahrir Square in Cairo and died from his wounds on Friday, media outlets report.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, thousands of Egyptians demanded an end to President Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year rule. On February 1, Mubarak said he would not run for presidential elections when his term ends in September and promised critical constitutional reforms.
