Residents of Khrakh-Uba village, Russian enclave in Azerbaijan, held a protest in the Russian city of Makhachkala, Interfax reported.
The protestors claim the Azerbaijani authorities are violating their rights demanding that villagers should take Azerbaijan’s citizenship under threat of deportation without paying compensation for property and land.
The settlement became an enclave of the Russian Federation after USSR’s collapse. In 2004 the terms of territory’s transfer expired and while Azerbaijan claims control of the territory.
