Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will pay a two-day visit to Georgia on February 11 to hold meetings in Tbilisi and Batumi, said Georgian Deputy FM David Jalanganiya.
Signing of a memorandum on renovation of Georgian historical monuments is not planned, he added. However, he did not rule out the possibility the sides may discuss it. “The Turkish FM may touch upon the issue or it may be raised by the Georgian side,” Jalanganiya said.
The Turkish and Georgian governmental commissions formed a protocol according to which Turkey plans to renovate three and build one mosque in Georgia, whereas the Georgian side gets an opportunity to restore 4 ancient churches in the territory of Turkey.
