Political situation in Iran will not prevent Armenia from pushing forward economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic, said Armenian Energy Minister.
Talking to the journalists Armen Movsisyan noted business moves forward despite difficulties and tension.
Armenia and Iran are carrying out a number of joint projects in particular in energy sector, among them Meghri hydro power plant, the second Armenia-Iran high voltage transmission line, Armenia-Iran railway, Tabriz- Yeraskh oil-products pipeline.
The Minister stressed cooperation with the Islamic Republic will enable to diversify Armenia’s energy resources. For instance Armenia-Iran gas pipeline can meet gas demand in the case of emergency. Movsisyan considers the key point is not gas price but diversification possibilities.
