Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan does not consider dangerous possible sale of the Georgian section of North-South gas pipeline.

According to him, sale of a pipeline is an economic transaction, which will have no political consequences. “I do not think that our Georgian partners will create a situation which will cause problems,” the Minister told the journalists. Movsisyan stressed that rumors about sale of the pipeline are spread by the Azerbaijani side, while Georgia is silent.  

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) expressed its wish the Georgian section of the North-South gas main, which supplies Russian gas to Armenia. The gas main may be used by SOCAR in the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romanian Interconnector (AGRI) project which at least requires demolition of the North-South pipeline.
