Armenian and Georgian governments are presently holding negotiations on preserving financial parity while crossing bilateral border by cargo and motor cars taking into account new laws adopted in both states.

At a joint press conference held in Yerevan Premiers of Armenia and Georgia stated they had reached a political decision. Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan stressed that in the context of compulsory car insurance in Armenia, the Georgian cars crossing the border with Armenia must get insurance as well.  

“Georgia has adopted a law on a special taxation of cargo vehicles while crossing country’s border. The measure was to preserve road communication of the country. In this context my Georgian counterpart and I agreed to spare no effort to preserve financial parity and to remove possible obstacles while crossing the border which may occur in the light of new laws,” Sargsyan said.
