The United States urged the UN Security Council to resume the previous restrictions in relation to the Iranian program on ballistic missiles.

State Secretary Mike Pompeo also said the UN should not lift the arms embargo on Iran in 2020 and called on the Security Council to take measures to control and bans in ports in order to prevent Iran’s continuing efforts to bypass arms limitations.

He added that Iran does not comply with UN resolutions and continues supporting terrorism around the world, including in Lebanon.

Pompeo added that the continued US “goodwill gestures” towards Iran were “useless”.
