On February 19, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz and his Georgian counterpart Alexander Khetaguri  as well as the Head of Agaoglu Group asserts Ali Agaoglu signed a protocol on construction of three hydroelectric power plants in Georgia.

The power plants will be constructed over the River Paravani and will have an annual production capacity of 277 million kWh. The construction work is expected to last for 4 years, Georgia Online reports.

According to Khetaguri, construction of the hydroelectric power plants would start next year, after technical infrastructure work was completed.
