Georgia will never commit infringement of its neighbors’ national interests, Georgian political scientist Soso Tsintsadze told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on Azerbaijani State Oil Company’s incessant statements on buying the Georgian section of North-South gas pipeline.

“It is not worth the trouble, the control stock will not be sold. I keep track of the publications in Armenia and I see Armenians’ concern is a bit exaggerated,” the expert said. He stressed Armenia and Georgia are neighbors and good-neighborly relations between the two countries simply require, so to say, caring about each other and mutual interests of partners.

“The fears are exaggerated. Of course, if a controlling stock is in the hands of hostile states to Armenia, it will become a matter of concern. However, Georgia has a good idea of it,” he said. The expert noted many are trying to muddy the waters, to drive a wedge in the good-neighborly relations of the two countries, but state interests of two countries require consideration of national interests as well.
